Keeping Memories Alive

223 photo size

Thomas Swarbrick - Admitted in May 1908 at the grand age of 70. He was a hard working Labourer at Garstang's Workhouse. His background and past life is unknown to me, wonder if he fought in the Boer war?
His mental condition upon admission was "senile melancholia" or in modern terms "Dementia". The Observations from the doctor were; "A wild look, inability to understand or answer questions. Can be violent, throwing utensils around and refuses food."
Unfortunately, a lot of the worlds population will succumb to the degenerative condition.
Whether his last days alive were happy or terrified, locked in his mind...is unknown.
